Saylor, Gillespie Announce Traffic Improvement Grants
YORK- Reps. Stan Saylor (R-York) and Keith Gillespie (R-York) announced a $836,326 grant for Springettsbury Township in York County. The grant will support extending and connecting Davies Drive in Springettsbury Township, including an at-grade crossing over the railroad. The project is necessary following the removal of an old bridge that was used to cross the railroad and will provide improved north-south mobility in the area and reduce emergency services response time.

Saylor and Gillespie also announced a $750,000 grant for Pasch Companies, LLC for the construction of a roundabout at the Freedom Square planned community in Conewago Township. A four-legged roundabout is planned for Canal Road to improve traffic flow as a result of the anticipated increase in traffic.

These multimodal grants were made available as a result of funding provided for in Act 89 of 2013.

“I am pleased to help secure funding for these two projects in Springettsbury and Conewago townships,” Saylor said. “Both of them will help improve safety and traffic flow making it easier for local residents to get around.”

“These grants help our local communities improve infrastructure for the good of residents, businesses and visitors alike,” said Gillespie. “I am thankful both of these projects were approved to receive funding.”
