Saylor Announces $1 Million Grant for Red Lion Library
RED LION – Rep. Stan Saylor (R-York) announced a $1 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant for the Kaltreider-Benfer Library in Red Lion. This grant will be used to add an additional 3,771 square feet to the existing library by building on the adjacent concrete pad area to create space for the children’s library, teen center and private study areas. The total cost of the project is $2.3 million.

“Libraries provide the foundation for learning in communities throughout York County. Each library in York County helps fulfill the important role of opening new worlds to our citizens. Our library in Red Lion is a first-rate facility and a cornerstone of the Red Lion community. The library gives people both young and old the opportunity to access a wealth of knowledge for free,” said Saylor. “I was proud to help secure this funding which will make critical updates to Kaltreider-Benfer Red Lion Library. The grant will allow the library to expand and create new facilities geared towards improving the education experience of our youth. This is a fantastic day for the Red Lion community.”

The Kaltreider-Benfer Library is located at 147 S. Charles St., Red Lion. This public library is one of 13 public libraries that make up the York County Library System.
