Saylor, Phillips-Hill Invite Local Seniors to Fraud Prevention Seminar
HARRISBURG – Reps. Stan Saylor (R-Red Lion) and Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) invite local seniors to learn how to avoid becoming victim to a scam by attending their free Fraud Prevention Seminar on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Delta Senior Center, located at 5 Pendyrus St., Delta.

“This is a great opportunity for seniors to learn how to better protect themselves from identity theft and other scams,” said Saylor. “Criminals today are slick and know exactly who to approach and what to say to gain their trust. It’s important to arm yourself and your family with the information necessary to avoid falling victim to these crimes and know how to make a report if you have been victimized.”

The seminar will feature information about how to avoid becoming a victim of one of these scams, as well as how to properly report them to the authorities. Staff from the York County District Attorney’s Office will give an overview of the top 10 scams targeting seniors.

The seminar is intended for seniors residing in the 94th Legislative District and 93rd Legislative District. Seating is limited, so advance registration is requested. Interested residents can RSVP by calling Saylor’s office at (717) 382-4595 or Phillips-Hill’s office at (717) 428-9889.

“If financial fraud and abuse of seniors was a disease, it could quite possibly be regarded as an epidemic,” Phillips-Hill said. “The information provided at this event could help save you hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars and provide greater peace of mind.”
