Saylor Announces Property Tax/Rent Rebate Extension
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue today announced a deadline extension from June 30 to Dec. 31 to apply for the state’s 2013 Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, Rep. Stan Saylor said today.

“This program helps out many Pennsylvanians, particularly those who are on fixed incomes,” Saylor said. “Rebate checks are scheduled to be mailed out starting July 1 to those who have already submitted applications. Claims sent in after June 30 will be distributed as they are received and processed.”

As of May 30, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue had received 463,672 rebate applications. Eligible participants can receive a rebate based on their rent or property taxes paid in 2013. The program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians who are 65 years or older, widows and widowers 50 years or older, and those 18 years or older with disabilities.
