York County Republican House Delegation Commends Toomey and Casey for Support of York Manufacturer
YORK – Members of the York County Republican House Delegation have extended their appreciation to U.S. Sens. Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Bob Casey (D-PA) for their amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act in support of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. They released the following statement regarding the amendment:

“These vehicles are responsible for the employment of many people in York County, and we applaud Senators Toomey and Casey for their support of York County jobs. Not only are these vehicles important to our region, but they are also a vital tool for our military personnel who are fighting to keep our nation safe. It is essential to allow BAE Systems to continue producing these vehicles without interruption.”

On Thursday, Nov. 29, Toomey and Casey secured passage of the amendment under unanimous consent. The amendment would require the secretary of the Army to conduct a study on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle Industrial base to determine the impact of President Barack Obama’s fiscal year 2013 budget, which calls for a three-year production break in manufacturing these vehicles.

The York County Republican House Delegation consists of Reps. Keith Gillespie (R-Hellam); Seth Grove (R-Dover); Ron Miller (R-Jacobus); Stan Saylor (R-Red Lion), Majority Whip of the House Republican Caucus; and Will Tallman (R-Hanover).
