Saylor Announces Job Opportunities for Students at PennDOT
HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is now accepting applications from college students for summer employment, according to Rep. Stan Saylor (R-York).

“This is a great way for college students to earn some money,” Saylor said. “Many college students work over the summer to help pay for tuition, books and other expenses related to their education. I encourage them to look into this opportunity.”

Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and enrolled in college for the fall 2012 semester. The positions are full time, and pay $11.43 per hour.

Students will spend most of their time working outdoors, augmenting regular maintenance crews on projects throughout each county. According to PennDOT, presently 18 positions are available in York County.

To apply for a summer 2012 position, visit Saylor’s website at and click on “Summer PennDOT Work.” Complete the personal data sheet, print and submit it along with a resume and proof of academic enrollment to Saylor’s district office by Feb. 8. Saylor’s district office is located on the second floor of 15 South Main St. in Red Lion. Residents can call the district office at 717-244-9232 or 717-382-4595.
